Kinesio taping
Kinesio taping is a technique that represents the application of thin, stretchable tapes for treatment of injuries and inflammatory conditions. Kinesio taps are almost identical to human skin both in thickness and elasticity, which allows them to be worn without restriction of movement.
Kinesio taps have an analgesic effect (by lifting the skin, they reduce the pressure on the pain receptors located under the skin, they create sensory stimulation). They act to reduce edema and hematoma (by raising the skin, they provide negative pressure under the tape and thus stimulate lymphatic drainage), reduce muscle fatigue, spasms and inflammation (help to remove lactic acid), provide support to weakened or injured muscles (they provide physical and neurological support to dynamic structures).
Kinesio taps have a great role in sports for increasing sports performance, preventing injuries and enabling faster recovery after injury.
