Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy is an area of physical therapy that deals with the application of various types of currents in the healing process: galvanic current, diadynamic currents, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), interferential currents. It stimulates blood flow in the region through it passes, leading to better oxygen supply and rapid removal of toxins, improves trophic and tissue metabolism, has a resorptive effect on swelling, reduces muscle spasm, reduces pain, has a stimulating effect on damaged nerves, acts anti-inflammatory.
Electrophoresis is a therapeutic procedure of introducing drugs into the body with the help of a galvanic current, where the drug and the galvanic current act simultaneously. Electrophoresis allows the drug to penetrate in the place of injury or inflammation in the shortest possible time, in this way a locally high concentration of the drug, a prolonged effect of the drug and the creation of a depot are achieved.
