Ultrasound therapy
Ultrasound therapy is an effective type of physical therapy in the treatment of numerous pathological conditions of the nervous and musculoskeletal system.
Due to its dual action, mechanical (tissue micromassage) and thermal (ultrasound energy is converted into heat) it has the effect of deep heating of soft tissues in the body, increases blood circulation, helps healing and reduces pain.
Ultrasound increases blood flow around the treated area, relaxes tissues, reduces muscle spasm, breaks down scar tissue, reduces swelling, accelerates tissue regeneration, helps heal injured tendons, ligaments and muscles, stimulates the formation of new bone after a fracture (callus). Deep heating of the soft tissues increases their flexibility, which improves the range of motion in the joints.
